Today Apple has released the iPhone 3.0.1 update. This update fixes the iPhone SMS Virus that was present in the iPhone 3.0 firmware. If you use an iPhone you MUST update to this firmware. It is possible to jailbreak iPhone 3.0.1 firmware, but you will need to wait for a redsn0w or purplera1n update.
If you own an unlocked iPhone you may have to stay with the current 3.0 firmware. It does not seem like a jailbreak will be relased any time soon. Stay tuned for updates, I will post an update here if or when an iPhone 3.0.1 unlock or jailbreak is released.
