It's official, Ultrasn0w is the name of the new yellowsn0w 3.0 unlock. MuscleNerd did a live demo of Ultrasn0w on Qik.com. In case you missed it you can see the ultrasn0w demo video below.

What is ultrasn0w?
ultrasn0w is basically yellowsn0w for the iPhone OS 3.0 firmware. It will unlock the iPhone 3G on firmware 3.0. You may no longer need your turbo sim cards to unlock your iPhone 3G.
Who made ultrasn0w?
Ultrasn0w was created by the Dev Team.
When will ultrasn0w be released?
Ultrasn0w will be released on Friday. You won't be able to unlock your iPhone 3G just yet, the Dev Team is working on fixing some bugs before they release it. Who knows, maybe they'll be able to release an unlock for the iPhone 3G S on Friday as well.

All of you guys with any IPhone 3G with any firmware and bootloader... all I have to do is connect your Iphone 3G to Itunes, Update to OS 3.0 then jailbreak and unlock with Ultra sn0w...
the Jailbreak tools (Pwnage and QuickPwn) and the Ultra sn0w will be released on Friday....!
So Every Iphone 3G in the market will be UNLOCKABLE.. and possibly Iphone 3G S.

I have a iphone 3g 2.30.03 bootloader version 5.9..its jailbroken but not unlocked..do i have to jailbreak it with the new pwnage tool then run ultra sn0w? or just run ultra sn0w?
It's nice that DevTeam creates this stuff, but come on, always releasing for Mac users first is starting to become a bore and a trend for anyone using something other than Mac. I don't mean to complain, but I'm tired of waiting 2 weeks to up to a month and a half to get something a Mac user has, and has flaunted in my face because I use Windows. I'm not putting down Mac or trying to hype Windows or anything, but, I suggest releasing the Mac and Windows version at the -same time- to prevent the handful of hardcore Macnerds from being little brats.

get off you lazy ass and help DevTeam code something for your windows box if having the most up to date platform is that important to you// other wise shut up and follow mindlessly like the rest of your windows brethren and understand that you just cant hack it

if you are not able to follow the simple advise: "If you are using a 3G iPhone with yellowsn0w and rely on yellowsn0w to obtain cellular service, then you should NOT use PwnageTool right now" probably you should not have an iPhone.

im trying to get a 3g 8gb, i have tmobile. does it go, restore with pwnage 3.0 with custom 3.0 software, then ultrasn0w, then unlock. thanks for the 3.0 pwnage tool, it saved my iphone 2g from my 3.0gm update, i took it back down to 2.2.1 and then went to 3.0 with the pwnage release, its very eay. for all you windows heads, try to find someone with a mac to do it with, i do feel for ya, try to get a cheap mac off ebay and upgrade it or something :) good luck, thanks Devteam..your the best

Open Cydia and search for "ultrasn0w"
Install --> reboot the Iphone
