Today Apple has finally released iPhone OS 3.0. While I tried to activate iPhone OS 3.0, I got an error message: iPhone activation server is temporarily unavailable. iPhone users have been flooding twitter with messages such as activation server is temporarily unavailable and we could not complete your itunes store request. So far iPhone OS 3.0 has not been a great experience for me and many others. I did expect this to happen because a lot of people will be updating today. Lets just hope Apple is able to fix this in time so people can enjoy their iPhone OS 3.0 update.

Happened to me. If you keep trying, it eventually starts, it took about 8 to 10 tries to work. Just finishing the update now :-)
I kept trying for maybe 20-30 times and no luck... at the end there was this post somewhere on the web... absolute genius worked for me... when you click update and as soon as it starts the extracting etc, disconnect your internet connection and it'll keep the process running. I got 3.0 OS now... Good Luck
