pwnage tool said this was incorrect firmware for the iphone 3G, in the iphone 3g designation is 1,2 not 2,1 which is what this ispw is
The firmware linked is wrong, it is for the 3gs, not the 3g
Yes the download link here is the wrong one for the 3G... you need iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw for the regular 3G

Indeed, it is. I found where iTunes stashed my copy of the firmware that it downloaded in Vista it's under C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
Thank god I use Linux and only have go into Vista to Jailbreak... I have a headache now.

I dled an IPSW from apple website and for some reason redsn0w just won't recognize it? Why is that? I'm pretty sure it's the correct IPSW.
