There seem to be several different versions of this file floating out there:
iPhone1,1_3.0_7A341Restore.ipsw
iPhone1,2_3.0...
iPhone2,1_3.0...
Can someone explain which is for which phone?

Im a 2g user. when I download the 3.0 ipsw after which to access it its asking for a password??? whats the password?
1,2 is for 3g
2,1 is for 3gs
1,1 is for 2g

there is no password.
hey! i'm on a mac here and just downloaded the firmware with you link! after the download, the file is showed in a folder, with several files, but not the normal .ipsw file! can you help me here, how do i handle that?

Here's the break down for each software (taken from iClarified.com):
3.0.0 (2G): iPhone1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw
3.0.0 (3G): iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw
3.0.0 (3GS): iPhone2,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw

Andreas, your mac unzipped the ipsw, which turned it into the folder you got. You must download the ipsw in such a way that your browser wont automatically do that... you need the compressed version for the hack.

i am on a pc and have have winrar. i get the files as a .rar instead of the .ipsw . how do i change this

Crap, mine isn't working. i think I screwed up the baseband when I accidentally went to 3.1. I tried downgrading to 3.0, but it gave me an error message. Anyone know how to fix this???
sure just make sure you hold the option key then click on restore browse you ipsw file to the previous one you created wih pwnage tool...give it a sec and you should be good
