yeallow snow working perfect on my iphone on 3 mobile, very fast interent, i think it was well worth doing to upgrade to latest version of yellowsnow phone seems a bit faster and i dont have any problems with calls any more before they cut of every now and then. cant wait for the upgrade so i can run 2.2.1

Since i updated yellowsn0w to 0.9.8 version, signals have been weaker, some times i just get flymode on when my phone dont get any signals and then i have to restart my phone to get it to work again.
i think last version was much much better for me, any idea where i can download it again?

Please download the application via Cydia MobileTerminal

Copy the folder over SSH in / var / root /
Launch Terminal on the iPhone and go to the directory where you uploaded the files
Write: su
Enter the password: alpine
Type: chmod 755 BBUpdaterExtreme
Write: launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
Type: ./BBUpdaterExtreme update -f ICE2_02.28.00.fls -e ICE2_02.28.00.eep
Restart the iPhone

I tried to downgrade the baseband on my iPhone 3G from 02.30.03 to 02.28.00 as described in comment 29, only I did not use SSH. In stead I used iPhoneBrowser and the usb-cable because I don't have a wifi network. Should that make any difference? Because the baseband was not downgraded. I tried putting the files in different folders but it still didn't work. Sometimes the phone shut down by itself before I was finished typing. In mobile terminal I got a message of something like "no such file or directory" every time I entered "chmod 755 BBUpdaterExtreme". I followed the instructions to the end anyway, without result. I tried to do both as told in the instructions here in comment 29 and as told in the instructions in the textfile "cmd" that comes in the folder that you get when you use the downloadlink in comment 29=put the files in different folders. Nothing worked.
Thankful for any help from the author of comment 29 or anyone else.

There is a complicated way of installing the downgraded baseband, however it needs to be done before upgrading.

things i did: comment #29 lol yea sure. you cannot downgrade baseband in any way. you can downgrade 2.2.1 to 2.2.0 but baseband 02.30.3 still be on your iphone. and baseband is that thing what is locking sim cards. so if you cant change baseband you cannot call from your iphone. i have tryed alot of different ways to change back but its not possible. i have chaged alot diffirent firmwares and basebands still dont work.
now i have iphone with v:2.2/2.2.1 (60%/50%) becouse i put 2.2.1 and downgrade but its still offering me upgrade to 2.2.1 baseband: 02.30/28.03 (90%/10%) becouse baseband actully didnt changed. i checked sources and there is nothing i can do. i have iphone only some hours so im too lazy to learn iphone. will wait till yellow snow crack new baseband. Good luck with it. till then i will use multisim card like rebel :)

#68: Same here. Opened the box, threw away the included sim right away. Problem is I got 1013 errors DFU-restoring 2.2. Was stuck in recovery mode - after a lot of head scratching to fix the problem, it ends up the damn phone came with 2.2.1/2.30.03 out of the box! That's why I was getting the 1013 errors (cannot "downgrade" baseband).
(Fix to 1013 error: DFU restore to 2.2, LEAVE 1013 ERROR BOX UP IN iTunes (do not click OK) -> open quickPwn and follow instructions (with 2.2 ispw). You'll end up with 2.2 fw with 2.30.03 baseband, but at least it's working. OR, just DFU-recover straight to 2.2.1, which is *bad*.)
Especially with the news about Nitro screwing the pooch for redsn0w, I am hoping that effort is not wasted on that, when it could have gone towards this.
DevTeam really is doing a great service for the public, but I just feel pissed about all the backstabbing and misinformation (fake downgrade methods) being thrown everywhere. DevTeam is doing this as a hobby too. I guess this is what the meaning of "SOL" is.
They probably rushed out the 2.2.5-2 quickpwn to give 2.2.1 users *some* solace (since unlock was so hard), so they haven't abandoned anyone. They just have limited means, and are using them to (what they deem) is the best effect. Hence the sitting on redsn0w. I would gladly give up two months of "minor firmware tweaks" to OS 2.0 and get a fully-busted-on-first-day OS 3.0.
*Obligatory plug* Thanks for your efforts, DevTeam and the rest of the phreaker community. Thanks to this (jailbreaking in general) the iPhone can do some pretty crazy stuff!
i have an unlocked 2.2.1 2.30.03
it was network locked when i got on a plan (op7us AU).
after upgrading to 2.2.1, i called up the carrier and unlocked it. I only tested another network (Tel$tra AU) and it works. Will use the different carrier for a week or so to see if there's any problems.
Will there be any updates soon for the bandbase? I'm a lifetime's worth of grateful, PLEASE keep up the great work! I'm counting on you!

Hey Guys, Don't downgrade your base band using that method, because after you successful flashed the base band ICE2_02.28.00.fls & ICE2_02.28.00.eep your iPhone Radio will be shut off and restart again, after that your iPhone look back to the normal without downgrade the base band still on 02.30.03 and your iPhone radio already disable by that base band you just flashed. the point is your iPhone broken and will never can work any more even your iPhone look normal.
Hi..Best way is to use this iphone as ipod and listen songs and see video and use wifi for internet except calling and receiving calls untill DEV Team releases some update for yellowsn0w

I originally bought my iphone from craigslist and unlocked it using 2.2.1 and pwnage tool, and an older version of yellowsn0w. It worked just fine.
Now after I dropped it in a pool, I left it out and had to restore it(it works again) and used a NEWER version of yellow snow with an IPSW that allowed the baseband to be upgraded. Silly me.
Basically dev team, y'all have done about the coolest possible things with this hardware and software- but man up and tell us if you're just jerking our chains while waiting for 3.0 to even start breaking 2.30. We love you, in the meantime.

I have a iphone 3g 2.2.1 firware. I am using a turbo sim to make it work on t-mobile. But the worst thing with the turbo sim is that whenevr i loose t-mobile signal , i have to put the sim back on some other phone to get the signal first and then insert it into the iphone to work. This is really annoying.

For all who have turbo sim cards and have to take them out and put them in other phones try turning airplane mode off and on and it should reconnect abut you still have to retype the apn settings but it's easier than removing the sim

Yes, I stupidly updated to firmware 2.2.1 which updated my baseband to 2.30. I only have access to a windows pc so had to use quickpwn to update the firmware. I know this meant I couldn't use a soft unlock, but didn't know it would break my hardware unlock also.

baeband 2.30 cannot be downgraded to 2.28. Do not trust any software that claims to do that unless it is published on www.iclarified.com. also Applie has closed the hole in 2.30 that allowed softwares like yellowsn0w to unlock the phone. So I dont think yellowsnow will ever be able to unlock 2.30. so for those who have baseband 2.30, dont worry..you still have an expensive paper weight :)

Im running yellowsnow v0.98, after i have installed this one and unlock my iphone 3g i tried other sim and ot works, but now my concern is my APP Store. Yes but only for people who have 5.8 bootloader or lower. Won't work with 5.9. 3G fuzzy downgrader will tell you what your bootloader version is when you attempt to run it.

i too bought a new iphone with 02.30.03 baseband...i heard that the turbo sim card method works...i hope it does..i have to try out soon...

And forget about down grading the baseband. Pretty much every 2.2.1 and higher, with 02.30.00 or above is bootloader 5.09. Impossible to downgrade

i have an i phone 3g 16GB i used quickPwn its jailbroken
firmware 2.2(5G77) modem baseband 02.28
i installed yellowsn0w 9.8 everything worked fine, untill after 10 minutes i lost network signal an my phone started giving me no sim an kept going on airplane mode.
i have also try'd using bossprefs i try'd everythin there to.
And i got the same thing i got network signal and after 10-15 minutes it went on airplane mode again then it gave me NO SIM
i try'd unistaling yellowsn0w 9.8 an reinstall it. it worked fine on that day, an the next day same thing happend again.
(i turned of everything in bossprefs) (i event try'd using the commands in the terminal)
can anyone PLEASE help me wtith this problem or give an answere solution anything!!
im thinking of using an older yellowsn0w but i dont know how because all what cydia an installer gives is the 9.8

I was able to succesfully downgrade from 2.30.03 to 2.28 using the fuzzy downgrader installed from Cydia. Of course, I had the 5.8 bootloader, but I can confirm that it did in fact work for me.
please please O please yellowsn0w come out with a version that unlocks baseband 02.30.03!!!!!!! i have no iphone now, just a glorified ipod for the time being (curse that release)... my phone is pawned and works great, but alas I had to be a fool a few months back and upgrade from 02.28 and have boot loader 5.9 as well...all things have conspired to keep it looked untill you guys save my iphone life!!!! please help! good karma will always be yours

if i put a contract sim with unlimited internet into the iphone unlocked with yellowsn0w would this enable me to use internt on the go? cheers :)
